Steve Franklin Barnes, 64, passed away early Tuesday morning, November 13, 2012, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.
A celebration of life service will be held at 4 PM on Monday, November 19, at the home of his brother, Jerry Barnes, 14100 Hwy 87 North in Eden.
Mr. Barnes was born March 12, 1948 in Rockingham County; son of the late John Hanna and Margaret Edwards Barnes. He was a retired carpet layer for Midtown Furniture.
He is survived by four brothers, James Lee "Mac" Barnes, Milton Lee Barnes, Kenneth "Shorty" Barnes and Jerry Barnes all of Eden; two sisters, Ruth Elaine Ladd and Brenda Ann Barnes of Eden.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Lee Barnes.

We at Midtown remember the smile Steve had every morning. He seemed to love his job and we were sad to seem him leave. We are even more sad to here he is no longer with us. We wish Steve's family the very best during this time of moarning.
