David Eugene "The Bopper" Overby, of Loris, SC passed away on Saturday morning October 13, 2012 at his home.
A graveside service *** HAS BEEN CHANGED TO 2 PM WEDNESDAY**** at Dan View Cemetery with visitation to follow the service. David was born October 27, 1948 in Wilmington, NC to the late Carl and Evelyn Fain Overby. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. David was the owner of Super Frog Productions in the entertainment business at North Myrtle Beach, SC.
He is survived by daughters, Katrina Lee Phillips and husband Rocky of Loris, SC, Chrissy Miller and husband Chris of Lois, SC; son, John Overby and wife Jessica of Loris, SC; aunt, Margaret Fain of Eden, NC ; cousin, whom he loved as his brother, Ronnie Overby and wife Mea of Eden; ex-wife, Ernestine Gates of Arkansas; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

My prayers and thoughts are with the Overby family during this difficult time. I was truly saddened to hear the news of David's passing. He came into my life as a fresh new breeze, showing me adventure, unconditional love and true friendship. He embraced me and my family as his own. David was known to us as "the Bopper", "the frog" and as "the most awesome DJ". My fondest memories of David was his cheerful & fun loving nature and the love he felt for his children, grandchildren, and his close family members like his cousin, Ronnie.( more like a brother than a cousin). He spoke highly of each of them. David had a huge heart full of forgiveness and love for everyone. He was a optimist and always believed the best of people. Last week was my last conversation with David and of course he concluded it with "I love you" and "have you heard the one about... " . David will be greatly missed by many. He is remembered from the "Coffee & Donuts" bowling banquet, the Elks dinner/dances, St. Brendan's Spring Picnics at the Silver Coast Winery, and Jim's 80th birthday party.
