Sally "Estelle" Bateman McDaniel, 97, of 1150 Virginia St. passed away Friday June 24, at Morehead Nursing Center, in Eden. The funeral will be held Monday June 27, 2pm at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. McDaniel was born January 28, 1914 in Spray, NC to the late Charles H. and Nannie Odell Bateman. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church for over 35 years and worked for Fieldcrest Mills where she was a machine operator. Mrs. McDaniel is survived by her daughter and long time care giver Judith M. Smith of Eden, two sons Robert McDaniel and family of Eden and Frank McDaniel and family of Baltimore, MD, grandaughter Karen "Kay" Lawson and husband James, grandson Kenneth Swayze and Fiance Judy Reynolds and many other grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Morehead Nursing Center and their staff from the East Hall. The visitaion will be held one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2pm, and at other times at the home of Karen "Kay" Lawson, 2600 Ashley Loop Rd. Reidsville, NC.
You all are in my prayers, Mrs. McDaniel was a very sweet person and I will miss her dearly,May God bless each of you and be with you in your hour of sorrow. Brenda

Estelle will forever be missed. she was loved by all of us at the nursing center. She was the one who could always put a smile on our faces; she also had a pretty smile herself. Kenny and family - Very sorry to hear about your Grandmother, I'm sure she was a very special lady that will always have a secret space in your heart. Judy,Kay,and Kenny We where so sorry to hear of Estelle's passing. She was a very kind hearted lady. Jerry and I often visited her and chat with her only the last few times she was always sleeping.
