Edwin Tuttle Jackson, Sr., 72, of 523 Ford Street, passed away Monday afternoon, November 1, 2010 at Morehead Memorial Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, November 4, at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery on Highway 700 in Pelham. A native of Rockingham County, Mr Jackson was born September 28, 1938, son of the late Wesley F. and Mary Via Jackson. He was a US Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion for 20+ years. Mr. Jackson was a retired barber. Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Brenda Gibson Jackson of the home; sons, E. T. Jackson, Jr. and wife, Deborah of Maggie Valley, NC and Joey Jackson of Eden; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sisters, Doris Moore of Reidsville and Elsie Mae Bolick of Madison. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 6 - 8 pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Brenda: We are so sorry about Uncle Edwin. I loved him so much and just knowing he's gone makes me very sad. We won't be able to come up there for the service but we will be thinking about all of you and praying for God to help you get thru this week and to give you strength in the days ahead.
