Dear Katie and family, I was so sorry to hear about your grandfather. He was such a wonderful man and an inspiration to everyone who knew him. I still remember our summer get-togethers at your grandparent's house. They always made it so fun for us. I hope you know that he will be remembered with love and affection. He always had a word of encouragement and praise to God to share on Sunday mornings and he will be missed. I'll be praying for you and your family, Love, Anna

I will surely miss hearing Les talk to me over the phone and getting his welcoming hugs when I was able to drive over and visit. He became a daddy to me after losing mine years ago. I could always ask about gardening and things like that with Les. He was so very proud that he and Eva built their home together and now they are together. He told me months ago that he 'was ready to go if that was God's will'. He knew he would 'get to be with Eva and his Jo and things were right with him and the man upstairs.'. He will certainly be missed on this earth by so very many and I just lost a dear, dear man that I loved to spend time with. Bless you Katie and all the other family members he loved so dearly. So sorry to hear of the loss of your Grandfather. Les was a good man. My Mom and Dad (Frances and Billy Wall) were good friends with them for many years. Mama and Eva worked together and they all use to dance in the living room when I was little. I have many fond memories of him as well as moments shared. He use to call Mama "Wall". He had the best personality and always had a smile on his face. I can remember you Katie, on your jumping swing through the doorway as a baby when Mom and I came for visits. I use to play with you but I know you probably don't remember. But, oh how they loved you. Know that I will keep you in my prayers. Sincerely, Jeanie Smith
