Ruth Craddock Kallam, 89, of 109 C & N Smith Mill Road, went home to with the Lord on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Morehead Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, May 22, at Matthews Chapel United Methodist Church in Stoneville with burial to follow in the church cemetery. A native of Rockingham County, Mrs. Kallam was born June 9, 1920, daughter of the late John Henry and Jessie Grogan Craddock. She was a charter member of Matthews Chapel United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years and sang in the church choir. Mrs. Kallam was a retiree of Washington Mills in Mayodan. Surviving are her two sons, Michael Kallam and wife, Angela, and Johnny Kallam and wife, Jean, all of Stoneville; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; and 9 step-great-grandchildren In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Kallam. The family will receive friends Friday evening, 7 - 9 pm at Matthews Chapel United Methodist Church and other times at the home of her son, Johnny Kallam, 510 Smith Road in Stoneville. Memorial contributions may be made to Matthews Chapel United Methodist Church, 996 Smith Road, Stoneville, NC 27048.
