Obituary For Ruth Craddock Kallam



Ruth Craddock Kallam, 89, of 109 C & N Smith Mill Road, went home to with the Lord on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Morehead Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, May 22, at Matthews Chapel United Methodist Church in Stoneville with burial to follow in the church cemetery. A native of Rockingham County, Mrs. Kallam was born June 9, 1920, daughter of the late John Henry and Jessie Grogan Craddock. She was a charter member of Matthews Chapel United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years and sang in the church choir. Mrs. Kallam was a retiree of Washington Mills in Mayodan. Surviving are her two sons, Michael Kallam and wife, Angela, and Johnny Kallam and wife, Jean, all of Stoneville; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; and 9 step-great-grandchildren In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Kallam. The family will receive friends Friday evening, 7 - 9 pm at Matthews Chapel United Methodist Church and other times at the home of her son, Johnny Kallam, 510 Smith Road in Stoneville.
