I was a classmate of Melvin's (as he was known in 1956) at Tri City High School. His dad had a new 1956 red & white Ford station wagon. It was gorgeous & had the first turn signals of any car I had encountered. Melvin was kind enough to invite me to ride in it to our senior prom. That was an honor. All my remembrances of Melvin are positive, including the fact that he played on our Patrick St. Pirates softball team. He was the designated first baseman because he was our tallest player. All the best to him, his family & friends. /s/ Pete Peterson, Salem, OR
