Katherine Stowe Gillispie, 87, of 201 Westerly Park Road, Eden and more recently of Brian Center Health and Rehab of Eden, passed away at Morehead Memorial Hospital on Sunday May 26, 2013.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Gillispie was born December 15, 1925 in Critz, VA. to the late Howard and Estelle Stowe. She was a member of First Wesleyan Church and retired from E.I. Dupont.

Preceding her in death along with her parents was her husband, Earl Warren Gillispie, a son, Ronald Stephen Gillispie, and two brothers, Franklin and Leonard Stowe.

Surviving are son, Daniel Earl Gillespie and wife Helga of Eden; daughter in law, Verona Gillespie of Durham, sisters, Genevieve Mabry of Eden; Jackie Donavant and husband Lewis of Kernersville, and Brenda Joyce and husband Steve of Mooresville, sister-in-laws, Ida Stowe and Shirley Stowe both of Eden; six grandchildren, Benjamin of Los Angeles, CA, Melanie of Winston Salem, Rebecca of Clark NJ, Kevin of Wake Forest NC, Bryon and Stephen of Bahama, NC, and one great grandson, Brandon.

The family will have a visitation one hour prior to the service at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, Danny, 142 Benjamin Road, Eden.
