I had only begun to work with Scott and didn't know him too well, but the few conversations we had was about fishing, he loved talking about fishing. He was such a nice guy. I am so sorry for his families loss.

Through the friendship between Scott "Lumpy" Helton and Chad Miller, our family had the pleasure of meeting Lumpy and getting to know him - what a blessing to have had such an opportunity. His closest friends say it best: never knew a stranger, life of the party and selfless. There are many who knew him better, but having only been around him a few times, your loss weighs very heavy on my heart as it has been on my mind non-stop. Prayers with you all.

Dear Scott, I have been remembering this evening when I heard you had left us. I remember my first ever date, aged six, with you to see Grease. I remember going on a playdate with you the summer after first grade when your grandpa had died and I had to keep it a secret all day until your mama was ready to talk to you about it - which was so, so hard but I did it because you were my friend and I didn't want you to be sad. I remember you showing up to public schools and jumping right into a crowd of other fun, interesting guys and making everyone laugh. I remember you telling me you had gone and married a Yankee like I did! I am so sad thinking of your adorable mom and dad, and your precious wife and their grief because your departure will have left such a big hole. You were fun and vibrant and jolly and kind and fair and thoughtful. I am so glad we got to catch up at the class reunion and on Facebook and the next meet-up will be quieter for your absence. If there is a country music section of the heavenly choir, your grandpa has no doubt found it and saved you a really good seat. Behave until we see you again! Much love to you and your family and thinking of all of you very fondly. Jennifer Pickurel Zaborowski

Scott and I were never the best of friends in high school, but I always enjoyed being around him. No matter what was going on, if there was a way to make it fun, Scott provided it. He was there with funny stories, bad jokes, and big ideas to discuss. We'll miss you Apple! God bless your family and celebrate life in a new way! You always knew how to live it to the fullest while you were here, I can only imagine how you are partying now! Sing praises for us too!
