Margaret Belton Chilton, 89, of 1615 Eastern Street in Eden, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 14, 2013, at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth.
A private graveside memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, May 18, at Danview Cemetery.
Mrs. Chilton was born April 16, 1924 in Rockingham County; daughter of the late Jesse and Nannie Hudson Belton.
She is survived by her son, Drewey L. Chilton and wife, Ethel, of Eden; two grandchildren, Debbie Greene and husband, Jack of Greensboro and Cathy Horton and husband, Roy, of Colfax; four great-grandchildren, Jaclyn Greene, Katie Greene, Emily Horton and Shelby Horton; and two sisters, Betty Burnett and Shirley Carter and husband, Carlos, both of Eden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Drewey C. Chilton; two brothers, Arthur and James Belton; and a sister, Mary Wyatt.
There will be no formal visitation, however, the family will receive friends after 12 noon on Friday, May 17, at the home of Drewey and Ethel Chilton, 1222 East Meadow Road in Eden.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Rockingham County (Hospice Home), PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.
