Dear Laura, Demp and Ron, Please accept our deepest sympathy. I am in shock at the news of Demp's passing so your shock must be so much greater. I was glad to hear that he had the opportunity to spend time at the beach last week. Take some consolation in that he enjoyed his last few days in a place that he loved. Time will not take away his loss but hopely it will help you to remember the good times you have shared and be gateful for them. May God comfort you and give you the strength to carry. We will keep you in our prayers - Love, Teri and Jim

Dearest family of Demps, My friend, Denise Meeks Wall let me know of Demps passing. Demps and I were high school, I guess you would say, boyfriend-girlfriend. I remember his mom and dad picking me up at my home on several occasions and taking us places. Once on a picnic, and then the grand 9th grade prom. It was natural for me and Demps to "like" one another because of our love of sports. One of my little sisters died suddenly in 1965 (Annette) and Demps and his family sent flowers in the shape of a little lamb. My mom and dad never forgot Demps and the kindness of his family during a very difficult time. I just lost my dad this past year (he was living with me and my husband (Cary) He was 90 years old and just as Demps was to his sons, just the sweetest man. I say this to the children since I know first hand how tough it is to lose a parent. I know my mom, dad and little sister Annette were all so happy to see Demps again. And one day Demps and I will see each other again. I feel very blessed and honored to have known such a sweet, kind and loving man. My prayers, love and support are with the family members and many friends of Demps. Love, Karan Gaffney Ray

It saddens me to see someone of Demp's character and so young to be called home so soon. God's plan for each of us is pre-planned and know not when it is complete, only him. I send you prayers and love during this time of grief. Demp was viewed as a community supporter, family man and honest. What admirable traits to leave behind, that other's may learn from such beautiful modeled behavior.

Laura I tried to call you tonight but was unable to get in-touch with you. Beverly found out about Demps and called me. She is in the process of putting John in a nursing home in Durham. Hopefully just for rehab, he fell in front of his house. He did not break anything but he is having problems with his legs. I was so sorry to hear about Demps. I know you still must be in shock. Having never lost a spouse, I can only imagine how you feel. We both know the loss of parents, but somehow I think this pain/sorrow would be different. Tomorrow is your birthday and I had hoped to talk to you today. I cannot help ease any of your sorrow, but know I'm praying that God will. He makes no mistakes and we always have to lean on Him and trust Him. I have doubted many times but I always find it was my mistake not to beleive His word. I will try to call again. Love Nera

Dear Mrs. Bradford and family, My heart goes out to you during this time of grief in your lives. It's hard to know what to say at a time like this but we know that God is the Great Comforter and if we rely on Him He will carry us through our toughest trials in life. Demp its been a long time since I've seen you but I think of you often and remember fondly our boyhood days in the Scouts. May God bless all of you and keep you during this time.
