Mildred Lennis Rickman, 93, of 2799 Swallow Road in Reidsville, passed away Monday morning, February 25, 2013, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, February 27, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow in Overlook Cemetery.

Miss Rickman was born March 22, 1919 in Stuart, VA, daughter of the late Fred and Emma Gilbert Rickman. She was a retiree of Fieldcrest / Karastan Mills.

She is survived by her brother, Billy Rickman of Ridgeway; three nieces, Gayle Rickman Smith and husband, Larry of the home; Linda Rickman Farris of Eden and Risa Rickman Coleman and husband, Jim of Ridgeway, VA; two nephews, Craig Rickman and wife, Susan of Griffin, GA and Robert Rickman and wife, Kim of Ormond Beach, FL; eight great-nieces and nephews; and eight great-great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Rickman, James Rickman, and Herman Rickman; and sister, Mabel Rickman.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday (10 - 10:45 AM) at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, (Mid-Atlantic Affiliate) PO Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.

Gayle and Rickman Family, So sorry to hear about your loss. I lost my last two aunts last week who were fortunate enough to be in their 80's and I believe Ms. Rickman would have been in her 90's. I am so very sorry to hear of Mildred's passing. Mildred was a dear friend to my mom, Evelyn S. Oakes. She also is very sad to learn of Mildred's passing. She was a sweet lady and I'm glad she and my mom enjoyed many days of water aerobics at the Riedsville Y. Our Prayers are with you!
