Noah Clayton McBride, 81, of 509 Ford Street in Eden, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 29, 2013, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, February 2, at Danview Cemetery conducted by Reverend Sue Anne Morris.

Mr. McBride was born May 17, 1931 in Rockingham County, NC, son of the late Wade C. and Annie Stultz McBride. He served in the U. S. Navy and retired from Fieldcrest Mills Blanket Division with 47 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Evadell "Tootsie" Underwood McBride, of the home; son, Andy McBride and wife, Barbara; daughter, Donna K. London and husband, Barry; five grandchildren, Chad Burns, Clay London (Angelia), Jesse London (Misty), Christy Bailey (Matt) and Leigh Smith (Mark); sister, Louise Gann; nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death, along with his parents, were five sisters, Beatrice Cowan, Juanita Wilson, Margie Braswell, Lonie McBride and Rebecca Maklary; and three brothers, Virgil "Buddy", Coy "Cotton" and Dewey.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to the Morehead Nursing Center East Wing and Emergency Room Nursing Staff.

Visitation will be held immediately following the service at First United Methodist Church and other times at the residence.

In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to First United Methodist Church in Draper, 130 Main Street, Eden, NC 27288.

I have passed him & his boat lots of times on his way to Buggs Island to "fish the day away" while I was going to work. I Love youall & will keep my Prayers going up daily! Some of the greatest memories was frog giging camping out on the river all night going hunting fishing at buggs island all the great fish fries on Friday night but most of all ill remember the great times we shared and the knowledge you gave me!
