Oscar Lee Kelly, 91, of 655 Valley Dr., passed away early Monday morning, January 21, 2013 at his home. There will be a graveside service held Wednesday January 23, 3pm at Danview Cemetery in Eden.

Mr. Kelly was born April 4, 1921 to the late Turner Kelly and Julia Edwards Kelly in Draper, NC. He retired from American Tobacco in Reidsville, NC where he worked as a fixer for 37 years. He also served in the US Army, and was a P.O.W during WWII.

Surviving are his daughter Julia Kelly Moore and husband Jim of Eden, NC, brother Willie Preston Kelly and wife Charlene of Reidsville, NC, two grandchildren Jan Reese and husband Mike of Eden, NC and Joey Hopkins and wife Terry of Garner, NC, four great grandchildren Jessica Haley of Cascade, VA, Julie Reese of Greensboro, NC, Kelly and Billy Hopkins of Garner, NC and two great great grandchildren, and his beloved dog Buddy. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanette Brooks Kelly and one sister Pearline K. Robertson. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Kim, Rhonda, Wendy, Beverly and Ashley for all of their help.

There will be no formal visitation and the family will receive friends at the home. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Oscar Lee Kelly can be made to Central Christian Church; 233 E. Stadium Dr., Eden, NC 27288.
