Iris Fisher Gravely, age 88 of 402 Fisher Hill Road, Eden, passed away on Thursday evening December 27, 2012 at her home. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Monday December 31, 2012 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs Gravely was born August 30, 1924 in the Spray section of Eden to the late Maurice and Cassie Gillie Fisher. She was retired from Fieldcrest Mills and later work as a guard for Wackenhut Security. She attended Gospel Road Baptist Church and graduated from Leaksville High School. Iris loved to work and enjoyed bowling in her younger years. Surviving is her husband Cecil "Edd" Gravely of the home, son; Michael Balser and wife Jo Ann; daughter, Lydia Gravely all of Eden; grandchildren, Rodney Matthew Balser, Dianna Balser and Greg Hill; great grandchildren, Joshua Hill, Courtney Hill, Casey Balser and Madeline Balser. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, James Elton Fisher who died while serving in the US Army during the Korean War.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 - 2 pm at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.

Iris was a wonderful lady I went to church with her she will be missed but I know she is home with Jesus now.She had a sweet husband I know he will miss her dearly.The family is in my prayers Iris would want me to tell you to make sure you are right with God where you can join her when it is your time RIP my special friend.
