George Jacob Hruska, 82, of Clarkway Dr. Eden, passed away early November 25, 2012 at Jacob's Creek Nursing Center in Madison NC. Funeral service will be held Tuesday November 27, 1pm at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Ridge-View Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hruska was born April 20, 1930 in Hiawatha, Michigan to the late John Hruska and Gladys Bratschi Hruska. He served in The US Navy from 1948 to 1952 during the Korean Conflict, where he served on the USS Midway. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Old Time Baptist Church. He also worked for the City of Eden where he retired after eight years. He had lived in Eden, NC for about fifty years, but was originally from Manistique, Michigan.
Surviving are his wife Doris Walker Hruska of the home, step children Carl Lusk, Jewel Lusk, Shirley Lusk, Mike Frazier, Ricky Frazier, Barbara Frazier Brooks and Tony Frazier, Special Daughter-In-Law Mary Lusk, nineteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Preceeding George in death are his first wife Thelma Hruska, brothers John Hruska and Gary Bratschi, and a step child Wilbur Lusk.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Fair Funeral Home Chapel, and other times at the home.
