Mildred Estelle Boothe Smith, age 80 of 294 Vintage Road, Eden, passed away at her home on Saturday afternoon November 24, 2012. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Monday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Overlook Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith was born in Patrick County, VA on January 24, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Alvin and Mary Boothe. Mildred was a member of Spray Baptist Church. She was a dedicated Christian who spent over 30 years teaching the word of Christ in her Sunday school classes. Her delicate voice and sweet smile will be missed by many, but most of all her tremendous heart and love of mankind will be missed by those who knew her best. Who could have imagined that this women could make such a difference in so many people's lives, we her family.... we knew just how special she was. We will forever love and miss her, but through our faith in Christ we will be with her again someday.

Mildred is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ernest Gilmer Smith, Jr. and four children, Linda S. Glasgow, Vickie S. Gauldin, Tony W. Smith and Steven D. Smith. Also left behind are 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren,brother,Alvin Junior Boothe of Eden, sister, Betty Boothe Hailey of Cascade, Va A visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 6-8 pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home.
