Carlie Gene Dalton, 75, of 11921 US Hwy 220 North in Stoneville, passed away Thursday evening, October 25, 2012 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth, NC.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Monday, October 29, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery in Ridgeway, VA.
Mr. Dalton was born September 1 , 1937 in Draper, NC, son of the late John Bishop and Mittie Stanley Dalton. He was the retired owner and operator of Dalton Paving Company.
He is survived by his daughters, Vicki Hayes of Stoneville and Brenda Dalton of Graham; son, Michael Dalton and wife, Tammy of Bassett, VA; four grandchildren, Rebecca and Ryan Davis, Haley and Michaela Dalton; brothers, Paul Dalton of Ridgeway, VA; sister, Sadie D. Clark of Ridgeway, VA; and his caregiver, Shirley Dalton Pierman of Stoneville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Glenn, Ray, Marvin, Murry, Alvin and Vernon Dalton.
The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
