Mary Prewette Dabbs, 83, of 631 Fagge Drive Apt. 2-B English Village in Eden, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 16, 2010 at Morehead Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 20 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Dan River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Dabbs was born August 28, 1926 in Rockingham County, daughter of the late Byron and Carrie Devin Prewette. She was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills. Surviving are her four daughters, Marilyn Regina Dabbs of the home, Susan Bingman and husband, Gary of Eden, Donna D. Hall and husband, Corky of Martinsville, VA, and Brenda Coleman of Danville, VA; four sons, Kenneth DAbbs and wife, Pat of Eden, Charles Dabbs and wife, Kathy of King, Daryl Dabbs and wife, Floyanne of Memphis, TN, and Jesse Dabbs and wife, Lisa of Ridgeway, VA; 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Maggie Strader of Reidsville and Virginia Mann of Florida; and brother, Buck Prewette of Eden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Dabbs; daughters, Kathy Dabbs and Joan Scearce; and grandson, Kenneth Dabbs, Jr. The family will receive friends Friday evening, 6 - 8 PM at Fair Funeral Home and other time at the residence.
