Louise H. Harris, 85, of 297 Devonshire Drive in Ridgeway, VA, passed away Monday morning, March 15, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County in Martinsville, VA. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, March 17 at Spray United Methodist Church in Eden, NC. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens, also in Eden. Mrs. Harris was born January 25, 1925 in Leaksville, NC (now Eden), daughter of the late George S. and Murriel Gilbert Harris. She was a member of Spray United Methodist Church and a graduate of Leaksville High School, Class of 1942. Surviving is her husband, Martin D. Harris of the home; son, Martin D. Harris, Jr. and wife, Martha of Martinsville; grandson, Gregory S. Harris and wife, Rebecca of Greenville, NC; step-grandson, Steve Darr and wife, Gloria of Texarkana, TX; five great-grandchildren, Josh, Matt, Nicole, and Steven Darr, and Kaeden Harris; one sister, Helen H. Kallam of Reidsville; and brother-in-law, Thomas Rhodes of Matthews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her sisters, Gloria H. Smith and her husband, Fred, and Bonnie Kay H. Rhodes. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, 7- 9 PM at Fair Funeral Home, 432 Boone Road in Eden, and other times at the residence.
