Thomas Richard Helmholtz, 53, of 227 Clifton Street, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 10, 2010 at Hospice Home in Wentworth. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Sunday, March 14 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Gardens in Greensboro. Mr. Helmholtz was born July 9, 1956 in Passaic County, NJ, son of the late Melvin T. and Lina Deppner Helmholtz. He was a service technician with AT & T. Surviving are brother, Melvin Helmholtz of Eden; sisters, Joanne Thompson of Eden and Rosemarie Gwynn of Mt. Airy; three nieces; two nephews; three great- nephews; and two great nieces. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Frances Nix. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, 7 - 9 PM at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
