Elizabeth Gray Thomasson Bailey, 83, of 443 Washburn Avenue in Eden, passed away Tuesday evening, August 28, 2012 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, August 31, at North Spray Christian Church. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Bailey a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother who was lovingly referred to as "Nanny". She was born October 10, 1928 in Spray, NC, daughter of the late Jesse Frank and Winnie Curry Thomasson. Mrs. Bailey was a member of North Spray Christian Church and a 1945 graduate of Tri-City High School. She was a retiree of E. I. Dupont.
She is survived by her husband, William "Snook" Bailey of the home; three sons, Bill Bailey and wife, Beth, Jimmie Dale Bailey and Tim Bailey and wife, Kathy, all of Eden; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and brother, Bethel Thomasson of Eden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ernest "Peck" Thomasson and Herman "Hank" Thomasson.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 7 - 9 PM at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Of course I know the two of you from high school, but I didn't realize until my Mom told me about your Mom's passing that they attended high school together & my paternal G-Granparents lived on the same street.
