Mildred Lee French Richardson, 93, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 19, 2012 at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 22, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens; a cemetery that she and her late husband, co-founded.

A Rockingham County, NC native, Mrs. Richardson was born October 29, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Etta Jefferson French. Mrs. Richardson was a member of Leaksville Christian Church since 1941 and a volunteer for Morehead Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by her daughter, Millie Sutliff and husband, Andy of Eden; son, John Lee Richardson and wife, Carolyn of Stoneville; three grandchildren, Mark and Jason Richardson and Stephanie Vanness; five great-grandchildren, Alyssa Richardson, Dylan Richardson, Braxton and Levi Richardson and Alana Vanness; sister, Lucille Hurst of Eden; and a special cousin, Virginia Adams.

The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Howard, Dr. Daniel, and the South Hall Staff at Morehead Nursing Center for all their care and support.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (10 - 11 AM) at Fair Funeral Home.
