Barney J. Warren age 86 of 450 Fisher Hill Road, Eden passed away on Thursday evening at Morehead Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held 2pm Monday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Overlook Cemetery.

Mr. Warren was born July 11, 1926 in Spray, NC to the late Joe and Maybelle Warren. He was a US Navy Veteran serving during WWII.

He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Barney retired from E.I. Dupont in Martinsville after 35 years of service.

Preceding him in death along with his parents were brothers, Tommy, Billy and Bobby Warren; sister, Ruby Parrish.

Surviving are wife, Louise Fulcher Warren of the home; daughters, Mickie Chester and husband James of Eden, Lisa Setliff and husband David of Greensboro, Inez Chilton of Eden and Cindy Hodges and husband Ken of Rocky Mount, VA; son, Charles Stanley of Fredersburg, VA; brother, Donald W. Warren and wife Frances of Eden; 8 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7-9 pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Louise, Mickey, Jessica and Carolyn, Sorry for your loss. I didn't realize who all were his family. I knew him from Wachovia and enjoyed him as a customer for many years. He always reminded me of Andy Griffin. It was ironic they died so closely together. He was a nice man and will be missed.
