Philip Lish, age 51 of 1187 Tilley Road, Walnut Cove, NC passed away on Friday morning July 13, 2012. A graveside service will be held 2 pm Sunday at Berry Hill Cemetery in Cascade, VA.
Philip was born October 1, 1960 to the late Earl Lish and Ann Hairston Lish. He was a US Army veteran. Philip was an avid outdoorsman where he enjoyed hunting and fishing and other times collecting arrowheads.
Surviving are his aunt, Marcile Hairston of Murfreesboro, TN; cousins/siblings, Cheryl Merry and husband Randy of Potomac, MD, Elizabeth Morris and husband Bob of Franklin, TN, Ruth Pacheco and husband Larry of Franklin, TN, Jean Bowen of Nashville, TN, Anne Bowles and husband Jim of Murfreesboro, TN, Marieke Castellanos and husband Tony of Murfreesboro, TN, Jim Hairston and wife Lea of Henryville, Ind. and Peggy Cook and husband Bob of Smyrna, TN.
Family will receive friends on Sunday from 12:30 pm til 1:30 pm at Fair Funeral Home before preceding to the Berry Hill Cemetery.

It is very sad about Philip. He was one of the first people I met when I came to Stokes County. He always shared stories about my husband growing up. He was one of the only people I knew that no matter how bad it was he always had a smile to share! I sure am going to miss those smiles and his stories. May he have found peace. Rest in peace my friend, you will be missed!!

My family and I are truly saddened by Philip's death. He was a very dear friend of the family for many years. We can all remember the very good times that we had together. I just hope and pray that the family is alright and that Philip found the peace he was so desperately looking for. He will be missed by everyone, but especially by my family. After searching for Philip for decades, this obituary finally appeared, the day before his brother Bob's (Robert Carrick Wyckoff, Jr)birthday.
