Brenda Handy Moorefied, 58, of 3542 Price Road in Eden, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 14, at The Church At Mercy Crossing in Ridgeway, VA. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens on Hwy 135 in Eden.
A native of Rockingham County, NC, Mrs. Moorefield was born July 14, 1953, daughter of the late George and Kathryn Southern Handy. Mrs. Moorefield was the co-owner of J. Moorefield Office Supply, along with her husband. She was a member of The Church at Mercy Crossing.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy W. Moorefield of the home; sister, June Murray of Eden; nephew, Jimmy Murray and wife, Andrea of Reidsville; and two nieces, Donna McClung and husband, Tim of Eden and Lynn Hazelwood and Jimmy of Stoneville.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (10 - 11AM) on Saturday morning at The Church at Mercy Crossing and other times at the residence.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Church at Mercy Crossing, 1978 Joseph Martin Hwy, Martinsville, VA 24112. These donations will be used to purchase Back-to-School supplies and shoes for children in need. This ministry was near and dear to Brenda's heart.
