Lucille Hooker Roberts, 91, formerly of Ridgeway, VA, passed away Tuesday morning, May 29, 2012 at Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Martinsville, VA.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, May 31, at Wayside Baptist Church in Ridgeway, VA. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery.
Mrs. Roberts was born March 28, 1921 in Rockingham County, NC, daughter of the late Joseph Tillman Hooker and Emma Frye Hooker. She was a member of Wayside Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Lewis E. Roberts and daughter, Dorothy R. Bowman, both of Ridgeway, VA; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel L. Roberts; son, Larry Lee Roberts; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Roberts; four brothers, Walter, Elbert, Otis and Osborne Hooker; and three sisters, Maggie Manuel, Ola Gatewood and Elizabeth Morton.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (12 noon to 1 PM) on Thursday at Wayside Baptist Church.
If making memorial contributions, the family requests they be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Dot I am so sorry to hear about Aunt Lucille, me and my husband went to see her not long ago she was sitting up in her chair holding her baby doll, I asked her if she knew who I was I really think she did because she laughed and I hugged her neck she did not want me to stop.
