Ellen Talbott Cayton, age 94 formerly of Ridge Ave. Eden, passed away Saturday morning, May 26, 2012 at Leaksville Rest Home. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday May 29, 2012 at Dan View Cemetery. Fair Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cayton was born May 4, 1918 in Rockingham County to the late William S. Talbott and Maude Robertson Talbott. She was retired from Karastan Rug Mill after 30 years of service, and also worked for Scotty's Carpet for around 10 years. She was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are her sister Bernice T. Hundley, brother Willie R. Talbott, grandchildren Robert E. Cayton and wife Ellen, Deborah C Woodson and husband Raymond, Kenneth L. Cayton, Rinda F. Collins and husband Buck, Mary C. Hull and husband Larry and Wanda C. Hairston, 13 great grandchildren and special friend Ralph Fulcher.
Preceding her in death along with her parents were sons Bobby Cayton and Douglas Cayton, daughter Edna Cayton Fagge sisters, Annie T. Underwood, Thelma Cassell, Betty T. Shough, brothers Harrison Tony Talbott, Avarett Talbott, Frank Talbott and Thomas Lee Talbott.
Visitation will be held Monday evening from 7 pm til 9 pm at Fair Funeral Home, and other times at the home of her sister 125 High St., Eden.
