Lucille Desmarais Minter, age 79 of 125 S. Edgewood Road, Eden went home to be with the Lord at Hospice Home of Rockingham County on Saturday May 19th, 2012. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday 10:00 am May 22nd, 2012 at St. Joseph of the Hills Catholic Church with burial to follow in Dan View Cemetery. Fair Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lucille was born January 24, 1933 in Lowell, Massachusetts to the late Albert Desmarais and Cea Leboeuf Desmarais. After moving to NC she retired from Fieldcrest/Pillowtex after 20 years of service. Lucille was also a supervisor for New England Telephone before she moved to NC. She was also an active member of St. Joseph Of The Hills Catholic Church in Eden, NC. Along with her chruch membership she was a member of the Ladies Guild, Home Bound Ministry, attended bible study and sang in the choir.

The widow of Richard "Bill" Minter, she is survived by her sister, Pauline J. McKenna of Daytona Beach, FL, her brother Paul Desmarais and wife Suzanne of Spring Hill, FL, sister-in-law Esther M. Dunovant and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to all family, friends and staff of the Cancer Center, Morehead Memorial Hospital and Hospice Home Of Rockingham County, for their prayers, help and support.

Visitation including rosary will be held on Monday evening May 21st, 2012, 7 until 9pm at Fair Funeral Home.

I was saddened to read of Lucille's passing. Though we lost touch over the years, I remember her as my first supervisor and teacher at New England Telephone back in the early 60's. She was the best and a sweet gentle woman as well. May she rest in peace.
