Ralph Elwyn Pratt, 78, of 326 Stratford Road in Eden, passed away Thursday night, May 3, 2012 at his home.
There will be no formal service, however, the family will receive friends at the home, 326 Stratford Road, on Saturday afternoon, May 5, beginning at 2 PM.
A native of Rockingham County, Mr. Pratt was born March 19, 1934, son of the late Jim and Evie Collins Pratt. He was a US Navy veteran having served in the Korean War. Mr. Pratt retired from General Electric as a truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Pratt, of the home; son, Michael Pratt and wife, Teresa of Eden; daughter Pencie "Penny" Perry of Eden; five grandchildren, Kasey Snowdy, Chris Pratt, Adam Perry, Troy Pratt and Taylor Pratt; two great-grandchildren, Adrianna Broadnax and Kenley Pratt; sister, Hazel Estes of Eden; brother, Joel Pratt of Eden; favorite brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ray and Carolyn Land; and special friend, Ray Hopper.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Shayne Pratt; sisters, Earlene Mabe, Hovis Jones and Elizabeth Pratt Lewis; and three brothers, Ronnie, Caroll and Billy Pratt.
