Buddie Rodgers Walker, Sr., 71, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA. He has resided in Fredericksburg, VA for many years.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, April 5, at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Stoneville, NC.

A native of Rockingham County, Mr. Walker was born January 20, 1941, son of the late Rex and Bertha Foley Walker. He was a retiree of the Department of the Interior. Mr. Walker had a tremendous love of music and was well known for his talents as a pianist. He was also extremely mechanically inclined.

He is survived by his wife, Rayola Mullins Walker of the home; daughter, Kimberley Walker of the home; son, Buddie Walker and wife, Christie, and granddaughter, Raeya Walker of Fredericksburg, VA; step-sons, Mark and Donald Gentry of North Carolina; five step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Deedle Walker of Eden, Jimmie Walker of Alexandria, VA, David Walker of Eden, and Daniel Walker of Alexandria, VA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Biever; and step-grandson, Mark Gentry, Jr.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 - 2 PM) at Providence Baptist Church, at the graveside
