Mary Frances Gilley Hopper, 79, of 230 E. Harris Place, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
A funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, March 25, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Overlook Cemetery.
Mrs. Hopper was born May 20, 1932 in Stuart, VA, daughter of the late John Edgar and Cora Hopkins Gilley.
She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia "Sudy" H. Hale and husband, Ken of Kernersville and Teresa Lallathin and husband, Scott of Kernersville; son, Ronald G. Griffin and wife, Thresa of Illinois; eight grandchildren, Jamie Hale, Robin Wood, Rosalyn Bondurant, Amber Williams, Cameron Lallathin, Riley Griffin, Ian Griffin, and Aimee Griffin; five great-grandchildren, Brian, Victoria, Lauren, Mason and Lathan; two sisters, Ruby Bingham and Peggy Carter and husband, Bobby, both of Eden; special friends, Frances, Faye and Glenda; and her loyal dog, Baby.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Hopper; and daughter, Roma Hyler.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening, 6 - 8 PM at Fair Funeral Home.
