William Hughes Heffinger, 79, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 15, 2012 at Morehead Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held at Pleasant View Baptist Church on Monday March 19th at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Ridgeway, VA. He was born on September 22, 1932 in Spray ( Eden), NC to the late James William and Betty King Heffinger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. He was a retiree of Karastan Service Center after 38 years of service. Also he served in the US Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Munich, Germany. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Josephine Thacker Heffinger of the home; one son, William Von Heffinger of the home; one daughter Debbie Heffinger Murdock and husband Donald Wayne Murdock of Ridgeway along with one grandson Curtis Wayne Murdock of whom he was very proud. Also surviving is four sisters. Visitation will be also be held at the Pleasant View Baptist Church on Sunday evening March 18th from 7 - 9 pm and other times at the home at 3318 Old Leaksville Road, Ridgeway, Va.
