Doris Grey Stover, 81, formerly of Eden, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend to so many, passed away peacefully in her home in Virginia Beach, VA on January 29, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur. Doris is survived by her son, Ronnie Stover of Virginia Beach, her son Robert Stover and his wife, Andrea, her grandchildren, Ron Stover and his wife, Van, Brandon Matheny, Meghan Stover, Michela Pearl, and Jacob Stover. In addition, she is also survived by three great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter, two sisters and a brother. She was a devoted mother and homemaker as well as a beloved co-worker at Wornoms Arts and Crafts during the 1980's. She was a longtime member of Scott Memorial United Methodist Church in VA and was a devoted Sunday School attendee. She also worked on a number of charitable endeavors throughout her life. She was an avid gardener and there was no plant too far gone that she could not save. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 4, at Lawson Cemetery in Eden. Fair Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society or the Scott Memorial United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
