Carrie Goard Clark, 89, of 503 Church Street, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012 at her home. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, January 25, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Overlook Cemetery. Mrs. Clark was born December 13, 1922 in Pittsylvania County, VA, daughter of the late William Russell Goard and Pauline Booth Goard. She was a retiree of Spray Cotton Mills and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are her son, Jimmy "Toby" Clark of Eden; grandson, Joey Clark of Eden; granddaughter, Jody Sharpe and husband, Robert of Eden; two great-grandchildren, Robin Sharp and Jolene Clark; and two sisters, Myrtle Clark and Daisy Burgess, both of Eden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Reed Clark; brothers, William and Chuck Goard; and sister Betty Eggleston.
