Maude, Joe and I go back a long way. Our fathers were running friends in their early life, and Joe and I were only 7 days from having the same birthday (same year). We as children had many fun days together, parents included. It has been a long time since we have had time together, but I am truly sadden in his passing. My prayers go out to you and your family. Though my heart aches with Joe's passing I know it cannot come close to the void felt by the loving wife of such a wonderful man. Maude, I will continue to pray for you and the family that God will provide the comfort that only he can provide. I will miss Joe for the rest of my life but I take comfort in Genesis 25:8 which speaks of how "[Abraham] breathed his last and died in a good old age, an old man and full of years, and was gathered to his people." This is a promise that we all will be reunited one day and I rejoice in the knowledge I will one day see Joe again but not in a tired, worldly body but in a renewed body with no more pain and suffering and experiencing eternal joy and happiness.

Maude, So sorry for your loss. I took a few computer classes that Joe taught in continuing ed and found him to be really knowledgable, friendly, with a very good sense of humor. His father and mine were buddies in the VFW, which gave us another topic of conversation, and he also worked on one of my pcs a couple of times. He will be remembered and thought highly of by many. My deepest sympathy. Martha (also a Woman's Club member with you).
