Buddy Rodgers Overby, age 76 of 1514 E. Meadow Road, Eden passed away Saturday December 24, 2011 at Morehead Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held on 2 pm Tuesday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Dan View Cemetery. Buddy was born September 29, 1935 in Leaksville to the late John Franklin and Gladys Boulding Overby. He was attending Immanuel Friends Church and served 25 years with the Eden Police Department. Buddy is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marie Overby, daughters; Kathy "Tank" Overby of Eden, Pam Lewis and husband Ray of Cascade, VA, sisters; Lorene Hartis of Fieldale, VA, Mary Staley of Eden and grandson Travis Ray Lewis. He was preceded in death along with his parents, sister; Dawn Jones and brothers, Wayne Overby and Donald Overby.
