George Robert Hicks, age 88 of 128 Brammer Road, Eden, NC passed away on Saturday morning December 17, 2011at Eden Estates. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Monday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with the visitation to be held one and a half hour prior to the service from 12:30 til 2 pm. Burial will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. George was born April 23, 1923 in Walnut Cove to the late John and Sophronia Hicks. He was a US Army WWII veteran and a member of Leaksville Christian Church. George was the retired owner and operator of George Hicks Sheetmetal Shop. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Alma Jones Hicks. Surviving him is daughters; Carolyn Hicks Loye and husband Junior of Reidsville, Linda Hunt and husband Sam of Cascade, Va., son Robert Hicks and wife Eileen of Stoneville, grandchildren; Bob Hicks and wife Stephanie, Jonathan Hicks and wife Wendy, Jeff Farmer, Matt Loye and wife Taryn, Chris Loye and wife Kim, Jamie Hunt and wife Misty, Regina Carter and husband Bryant, sister Doris Jean Kallam of Eden, 17 great grandchildren.
