William "Bill" Dee Hill, Jr., 75, of 755 Berry Hill Bridge Road, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at his home. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, December 16, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Bill was born July 21, 1936 in Stanly County, NC, son of the late William D. Hill, Sr. and Virgie Ramsey Hill. He served in the Air National Guard for eight years and Air Force Reserve for six. As a public servant in law enforcement he worked in several areas throughout North Carolina. He started his career with the High Point Police Department with 10+ years service before moving on to become Chief of Police with Holden Beach Police Department for six years and later, Sunset Beach Police Department, retiring after serving 10 years there. Surviving are his daughter, Wendy Hill of Water Valley, MS; and three sisters, Mary H. Atkinson, Frances H. Bass and Linda H. Cranford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Joyce Hill; and son, Marlon Dean Hill. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6 - 8 PM at Fair Funeral Home.
