Mildred Brammer Fawcett, 83 of King's Grant in Martinsville, VA, formerly of Eden, NC , passed away Thursday, December 8, 2011. A Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church of Eden. A period of family visitation will occur at the church one hour prior to the service. Mildred was preceded in death by her loving husband Dr. Blake Fawcett and son, James T. Lucas, III (Jay). Surviving are children David P. Lucas and wife Bonnie of Salem, VA; Dr. Thomas A. Fawcett and wife Karen of Oxford, NC; Dr. Barbara F. Kelly and husband Jerry of Centennial, CO; Dr. Steven C. Fawcett and wife Dr. Helen Fawcett of Wrighsville Beach, NC; multiple grandchildren and nieces and nephews with special recognition to grandchildren Jonathan C. Lucas and Grayson S. Lucas; sisters; Elizabeth B. Baker of Cumming, GA.; Marianne B. Hankins and husband Jack of Martinsville, VA; and brother Frank P. Brammer, Jr. of Orlando, FL. The family would also like to extend a special word of thanks to Loraine Hairston and Delsey Stockton for the loving care and attention they provided for the last three years. My Deepest Sympathy to the family of Mrs. Mildred Brammer Fawcett. She was one of my favoite school teachers at Auburn High School in the school year 1958-1959. I remember her two sons, Jay and Pumpkin. Pumpkin was so cute when I used to get up hay for his father. I haven't seen David for over 50 Years and sure would like to see him again.
