Maggie Ellen Shelton Compton, age 87 of 706 Phospho Springs Road, Ridgeway, passed away at her home on Saturday February 13th. Funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday the 17th at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden with the Rev. Don Thomas and Terry Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Ridgeway. Mrs. Compton was born June 19, 1922 , in Rockingham County, NC to the late Howard and Lillie Burris Shelton. Maggie attended the Southside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death along with her parents , her husband; James Robert Compton,daughter; Dollie C. Hairfield, brothers Harvey W. Shelton and James Edward Shelton , sister; Louvie Keaton. Surviving are her son; Teddie R. "T.C." Compton of the home, granddaughter; Sue Odell and husband Jamie of Axton, brother; Maynard W. Shelton and wife Dianne, sisters; Hazel Brown and husband Johnny and Lora Inez Carter all of Walnut Cove, NC.
