Dear Cousins, My heart and love go out to all of you on the lost of our "amazing Miss Lottie". Some of you might remember me as I am the eldest grandaughter of Dock and Frances Gilley. My fondest memory of Lottie was around 1963-1965 when Lottie and Agnes and all the rest would gather at Uncle "Raym's" house for tobacco pulling. More often than not Lottie would be almost the last to arrive at the barn, but she would come happily down the path to the barn laughing and singing with her infamous "Minnie Pearl" hat (complete with price tag) ready to begin the day and she always managed to do more work than anyone else in less time. I learned a lot from her--virtues like honesty, a good work ethic, loyalty and love came 1st with family and most importanly not to leave God out of your life. I can only begin to imagine what celebrations in heaven were like when "Miss Lottie" arrived "HOME". There will never be another like her. My thoughts arn prayers are with you in the days. May God give you peace as only he can.

I am sending you my symmpathy and pray for your "well-being" in your time of grief, it is so hard to lose your Mother. We lost our Mother a few weeks ago, Hallie O'Dell, and we know how hard it is. Miss Lottie was so friendly and loving to us as we were growing up, I will never forget her. Keep your "memories" of her close and may you find comfort as time goes by. May the Lord bless you, and keep you. Love, Jewel

I am sorry to hear of Lottie's death. The last time I saw her was at Aunt Jean Ward's funeral. She told me about her participation in Aunt Jean's cosmetology exam where she allowed Aunt Jean to wash and set her hair for a test score. Aunt Jean passed and got her cosmetology license with Lottie's help. Lottie was always a delight to be around with her fun loving attitude. You could also tell that she loved her family very much. She mentioned to me that her family loved to get together at her house and share family news. I remember seeing some of her children at Drewry Mason High School back in the 60's. Lottie was related to me on mama and daddy's side of my family. So, I will remember her as a beautiful, kind and family loving cousin. Respectfully yours, Hallie and Steve Odell's daughter, Jerlean Odell Pruitt of Madison, N. C.
