Hazel Mills Pulliam, 87, a loving wife and mother, died Wednesday morning, October 26, 2011 at Brian Center in Eden, NC. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 29, at Christ Episcopal Church in Martinsville. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway, VA. Mrs. Pulliam was born January 15, 1924 in Ridgeway, daughter of the late John William and Minnie Miles Mills. She was a 1941 graduate of Ridgeway High School and a member of First Baptist Church of Ridgeway. Mrs. Pulliam was a homemaker, but also a partner in her husband's furniture business for many years. Surviving are sons, Wayland Pulliam and wife, Linda of Ridgeway, Mike Pulliam and wife, Patsy of Winston-Salem, Ronnie Pulliam and wife, Lorelei of Afton, VA; daughters Linda Pulliam Hyman and husband, David of Raleigh, NC and Ann Pulliam Ward and husband, Don of Wilmington, NC; sisters Margaret Mayer and husband, Larry of Durwood, MD and Mabel Sheffield of Ridgeway; grandchildren, David and Aaron Pulliam, Nicole Lijoi, Chris Pulliam, Melanie Morrison, Chloe Morrison, and Jacob Ward; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. Delos Pulliam; brothers, Harvey Mills and Marvin "Buddy" Mills; sisters, Frances Hunt and Grace Mills; and grandson, Jay Pulliam. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday (10am to 11am) at the church parrish house, next door to the church. In addition an informal visitation will be held Friday afternoon and evening at Fair Funeral Home, 432 Boone Road in Eden.
