Dana "D.J." Jackson Heffinger, Jr. age 64 of 1225 Fieldcrest Road, Eden, passed away on Friday September 30, 2011 at Morehead Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. D.J. was born October 31, 1946 in Leaksville, NC to the late Dana Heffinger, Sr. and Ruth Soyars Heffinger. He was a member of Draper Christian Church and was retired from Karastan Rug Mill. D.J. loved NASCAR racing and until his illness he loved being outdoors. Surviving him are wife; Diane Coleman Heffinger of the home, sister; Rivers Heffinger Ashworth and husband Bill of Eden, mother-in-law; Vivian Coleman Flynn , of Eden, nieces, nephews, friends and family. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6-8 pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Kay and Tommy Woodall , 131 Vaughn Steet, Eden, N.C.. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, P.O Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375 or to Eden Rescue Squad, 106 Mabel Street, Eden N.C. 27288.
