Linney Dale Mahon, Sr., 72, passed away Wednesday evening, September 14, 2011 at Morehead Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, September 19, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. A native of Madison, TN, Mr. Mahon was born April 29, 1939, son of the late Mac and Edith Donahoe Mahon. He spent most of his childhood in Martinsville, VA. Mr. Mahon was a US Army veteran and a former employee of Morehead Memorial Hospital. Surviving are, companion, Bea Childers of the home; two sons, Linney Dale Mahon, Jr. of Fort Worth, TX and Duran Lyle Mahon of Lubbock, TX; two daughters, Allison M. Hampton of Lawsonville, NC and Audrey M. Somers of Reidsville; eight grandchildren, Crystal Nichole Mahon, Nicholas Duran Mahon, Necy Ann Mahon, and Garrett Austin Malone, Bryan Somers, Dan Somers, Kate Hampton, and Callie Hampton; two great-grandchildren, Konnor William Copeman and Tristan Somers; sister, Lorraine Lintecum; brother, Kenneth Mahon; and special aunt, Connie Donahoe. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 1 - 2 PM on Monday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.fairfuneralhome.com

Bea and family of Linney, I worked with Linney for many years. We often would be on break at the same time and had much conversation about life and family. He was such a good man and devoted to you, Bea. I was shocked to hear of his passing since I did not know that he had been ill. I will miss him.
