Frances Jones Odell, 79, of 14702 NC 87, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at her home. At Mrs. Odell's request a private service was held on Thursday, August 4, at Overlook Mausoleum. Mrs. Odell was born February 4, 1932 in Rockingham County, daughter of the late William Robert and Annie Richardson Jones. She was a retiree of E. I. Dupont after 33 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are her sister, Elizabeth White of Reidsville; a very special granddaughter, Ramona Trantham and husband, Mike; and two special great-grandchildren, Taylor and Tanner Trantham. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers William, Paul and Jim Jones; and half sister, Tracey Withers. The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Karb, the nurses and staff at Smith-McMichael Cancer Center and to Hospice of Rockingham County for all of their care and support.
