Dear Family, My most sincere condolences on the loss of Cathy. I am the new pastor at Spray Baptist. I had a few opportunities to meet Cathy while she was in the hospital at Morehead. I enjoyed the conversations and time spent visiting. I know that her health was not good. It was a shock that she went so quickly. She expressed on more than one occasion that she wished she could return back to church and worship at Spray. I know that the church here will miss her and we will all be praying for you as a family at this difficult time. God bless you and take care. Joe Hethcoat, pastor Spray Baptist Church Eden, NC

I worked with Cathy at Morehead Hospital, and she was a kind, sweet lady. She shared lots of Matthew stories with us, and you are right, she absolutely adored him. I just wanted to let you know, I thought of her often and I wanted to send you my condolences at the sad time.

I worked with Cathy for several years at Karastan and she made a difficult job easier with her wit and humor. She was a joy to work with and just a great person all around. She was missed tremendously when she left us at Karastan. I am only sorry that I did not keep in touch as I have lost that opportunity now. God bless all of her family and friends. May He comfort and strengthen you at this time.

We had lost touch but I always thought we would see each other soon. My heart grieves with you and the family. I feel an empty place in my heart but I know that our precious Cathy is rejoicing in Heaven with her beloved Dad and waiting for the rest of us to get there. I pray that the Lord will give all of you the strength to get through your grief. My deepest sympathy to the family on the loss of their loved one Cathy Tucker Newman. Cathy was a very kind, sweet and loving person. She was one of my former classmates, and we worked together for many years at Fieldcrest/Karastan. In addition, during her tenure at Morehead Memorial Hospital as a Patient Rep. she was very responsive and sympathetic with any and all who had concerns at the hospital. She will be greatly missed. My prayers go out to all of you during this time of grief now and in the weeks and months ahead. God musthave needed another angel on his staff and He chose one of the best. May He give you all great peace and comfort during this time. In Christ Name!

Dear Matthew, I am so sorry about your grandmother. She must be the prettiest angel with the best smile in heaven right now. YaYa used to work with her at Karastan and knew her from the hospital too. My uncle Brad and your uncle Chris went to school together. I wish I could write something that would make all of you feel better but I guess only Jesus can do that and he will. I will miss seeing Miss Kathy at school. She was one cool grandma. See ya soon
