Alma Martin Rhodes, formerly of Hwy 700 , Eden passed away Friday Febuary 5, 2010 at Sardis Oaks Nursing Home in Charlotte,N.C.. Graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday Febuary 13, 2010 at Overlook Cemetery in Eden, N.C. with Dr. Craig Bowman officiating. Mrs. Rhodes was born in Rockingham Co. to the late George W. and Maggie Atkinson Martin. Alma was a graduate of Leaksville High School and a member of First Baptist Church of Eden. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Rhodes , son; George (Larry) Rhodes, brother; Thomas Martin and sister; Ruby Martin. Mrs Rhodes is survived by her son; Thomas M. Rhodes of ,1146 Holleybank Drive ,Matthews, NC and three grandchildren; Kay Rhodes Watson of Eden, Amy Rhodes Holman of Matthews, NC and Christopher Rhodes of Clemmons,NC.
