Dear Peggy, It is with deep sorrow that we have heard of Kelly's death. Please accept condolences from our family. We hope that you find courage and strength to bear this irreparable loss. I remember Kelly from band and flag team especially. She always smiled and obviously dearly loved music. I have heard from Alice Brown about what a lovely voice she had and with what joy she sang in your church choir. I have read with pride comments from some of her Latin students. I always shared love of the Greek and Roman myths with her, and we used to talk at school sometimes about stories we loved since the walls of my classroom were decorated with mythology posters. God bless you, my sweet friend, in this awful time of personal sorrow. I am so very sorry. There is no measure for your personal loss, I know, but I hope you will lean on your church family for strength in this time of emotional and spiritual need. Love to you from John and Amy, too.

Dear Kelly's family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Kelly was my student teacher in Latin several years ago at Northwest Guilford High School, and we continued to see each other at various meetings and kept in touch. I remember Kelly as always cheerful and upbeat. When the McDonalds on her way to NW opened up a McCafe, she was positively ebullient, making me laugh. In fact she often made me laugh, whether in class (keeping her cool with difficult students) or making lesson plans together, or attending various JCL meetings. She was just naturally a happy person, and the world could use more like her with her positive outlook. Requiescat in pace. Sarah Wright

Mrs. Cox, I was shocked and saddened to hear of Kelly's death. My son, Connor, just completed 6th grade at Northern and was in her Latin class the first semester. He had a bit of a difficult transition into middle school and often said that Latin was the "only bright spot" of his school day. Because of Kelly, he had registered for Latin again next year in 7th grade and was looking so forward to having her as his teacher again. What a blessing she was to have touched the lives of so many students. May God bless you and your family during this difficult time. Peace, Karen Johnson
